The Pioneers were so happy to be back on Patrick Ramsey Field Monday night that they decided to stay seven extra innings. The Coffee County Red Raiders hung around too, but went home empty handed following their extended visit.The Warren County High School baseball team got its season started in thrilling fashion with a 2-1 walk-off win in the 14th inning over the Red Raiders.Both teams were offensively challenged most of the night as Warren County pitchers Ryan Jennings and Will Sweeton shut out the Red Raiders for 13 innings while Kyle Douglas, J.R. Gilmer and Dylan Sandoval held the Pioneers scoreless until the bottom of the 14th inning.After going 13 innings without a run, the Red Raiders finally broke the tie by plating a run on a suicide squeeze in the top of the 14th. The score was met with groans from the Pioneer faithful who stuck around for the nearly four-hour contest, but a raucous celebration wasn’t too far away.Lee Carden ignited Warren County by leading off the bottom of the 14th inning with line drive into right field.
