Warren County High School golfer Bracton Womack capped a successful high school career with an eighth-place finish in the state golf tournament held at WillowBrook Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Womack finished in an eighth-place tie with Jackson Skeen of Science Hill out of 68 spots in the two-day tournament.
During his first day, Womack was -2, shooting a 70 on the par 72 course. On day two, he shot a 74 for two strokes over. His total put him at even par for two days with a 144. He finished with nine birdies.
“I’m very proud of what he has accomplished this year as a Warren County High School golfer,” said Pioneer golf head coach J.W. Holt. “He had a solid senior year. His hard work and practice habits have paid dividends for him. I can’t wait to follow his college career.”
This makes the third year Womack has qualified for the state tournament. Besides his strong showing at state, Womack has been the most consistent golfer on Warren County High School’s golf team all year.
