The WCMS soccer team experienced turbulence in the early parts of the season, but the Pioneers have been enjoying clear skies as of late.
WCMS jumped on Franklin South like a trampoline Wednesday in McMinnville, gliding to a 7-1 victory.
Abram Stinson, Kevin Martinez and Yehoshua PicRuiz all scored two goals apiece to lead the Pioneers in victory. Parker Smith scored once.
Franklin South didn't get on the board until the final minutes to prevent a shutout.
"We came from the bottom and we're getting there now," said WCMS coach Alex Cordova.
Bradley Duenas was a force in goal for the Pioneers, deflecting shots and making diving saves.
The win advances the Pioneers to the CTC Tournament semifinals Saturday in Tullahoma. Should the Pioneers win, the championship game is also played Saturday.
