In the first year under coach David Martin, the Warren County Middle School baseball team started an entire lineup of eighth-graders.Year two will be much different. The Pioneers are a young team which is looking to replace starters at every position on the field.Though having some players back to build on would be nice, coach Martin isn’t counting out his young team.Having to fill spots has made every practice competitive as a nearly 25-player roster knows starting positions are up for grabs. The competition has coach Martin pleased with the work his team does on the practice field on a daily basis.“We’re still learning the game,” said coach Martin. “We have a bunch of kids fighting for positions and working hard everyday.
