Paige Sweeton goes up for a layup during Monday's 45-27 loss to visiting Franklin North.

The Lady Pioneers just didn’t have an answer for Ashtyn Danley.

Danley scored 20 points to carry Franklin North to a 45-27 victory over Warren County Middle School Monday night. The loss dropped WCMS to 3-5 this season.

Danley turned the game in the second quarter. After battling to a 6-6 stalemate through the first six minutes, the Lady Gator guard took over.

Danley dropped 11 points in the quarter, bookending her offensive outbreak with 3-pointers. Her offensive outburst was a stark contrast to the other side, where Warren County couldn’t seem to find the range.

The Lady Pioneers didn’t score from the field in the second quarter. The home squad got two free throws from Emeri Cummings and a free throw from Bella Pennington for the team’s lone second-quarter points.

Warren County went to the locker rooms trailing 26-9, a deficit it wouldn’t be able to overcome.

Kyra Perkins go hot in the third quarter, scoring eight of her team-high 10 points to provide a momentary spark. Perkins drilled a 3-pointer which briefly brought the Lady Pioneers within 10, but it never got any closer.

Cummings and Bella Bain finished with four points each for Warren County, while Pennington added three. Jaycie Hodges, Savannah Winfree and Kinslee Grissom chipped in two points each.

Warren County will be back in action next Monday, Dec. 10 at Tullahoma East.
