Last year one of the highlights of Warren County athletics came on the same weekend when the WCMS soccer and baseball teams both won their conference championships.Now that spring sports are getting under way, I’m wondering if WCMS can make it a trifecta this year – a clean sweep – and win conference championships in soccer, baseball and softball. It certainly won’t be easy, but it’s possible.The team that didn’t win a championship last year may be in the best position of all as first-year WCMS coach Rodney Whiles inherits a talented Lady Pioneer softball squad. Last year’s coach, Gooby Martin, is now the high school softball coach.WCMS finished third during the regular season and third during the tournament.
