Make it 2-for-2 for the Lady Pioneers on the volleyball court this season. Warren County picked up its second win Tuesday, beating Cannon County in straight sets on the road.
The Lady Pioneers, who opened the season Monday with a win over Cascade, were quick, efficient and overwhelming in Woodbury. Warren County won 25-17, 25-20 and 27-25 to move to 2-0 during opening week.
Amara Ellison was a new star for the Lady Pioneers, finishing with a team-high 12 assists to go along with two aces and three digs. Senior Emily Davis was again a force at the net, finishing with a team-high nine kills. Allyson Blalock was an assassin at the service line, finishing with a team-high seven aces, and also added two blocks on defense.
Kennedi Pegg flashed her all-around game as well, chipping in seven assists, seven digs, four aces and one kill. Lola Wells (16 digs), Jae Stovall and Hope Gilley (10 digs each) led the back end on defense.
The WCHS JV team also won 25-11 and 25-20.
