WCHS students celebrate after the boys basketball team won its first district game Friday night.

The WCHS boys basketball team won its first district game Friday night against Shelbyville.

The Pioneers captured a 59-53 win as Treyton Terry led the way with 18 and Isaiah Cummings added 16. The Pioneers are 8-10 overall and 1-3 in district.

The Lady Pioneers improved to 18-3 on Friday night with a 51-30 win over Shelbyville. The WCHS girls are 3-1 in district play.

Kyra Perkins led Warren County with 23.

The WCHS boys play Monday at home against Upperman with the JV tipping off at 6 p.m. and the varsity playing at 7:30 p.m.

Both teams travel to Manchester on Tuesday for district play against Coffee County.
