It’s no secret where the Warren County High School football team must make its biggest improvements before Friday’s game in Shelbyville. If the Pioneers want to pull an upset against the Golden Eagles, the team’s offensive line has to be better than it was in the opening game.Against DeKalb County, the Pioneers finished with negative yards rushing - minus-15 on 20 attempts - and quarterback Hunter Mullican was pressured early and often when attempting to pass. Four sacks, along with a 16-yard loss on a high snap, contributed to Warren County finishing with negative yardage in the run game for the first time in coach Tommy Johnson’s four-year tenure. After reviewing the game film, coach Johnson believes correcting some mental mistakes can go a long way into improving the protection.
