Warren County tames Cannon County Lions

Coach Adam Childs and the Warren County High School baseball team passed their opening-day test with flying colors Monday.The Pioneers started the season with a 10-0 victory over the Cannon County Lions in five innings at Patrick Ramsey Field.Senior Micah McColloch went the distance on the mound, earning a shutout in the process. McColloch struck out six and allowed just three hits to pick up right where he left off last season when he was named to the All-District 6-AAA team.Daulton Foster led the Pioneer attack at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Foster ended the game in the bottom of the fifth when his two-run single put the Pioneers up 10 and enacted the run rule.Coach Childs was extremely pleased with his team’s effort in the home opener.“I’m very happy with the way we performed,” said Childs.
