Ashber Coates and TEH Construction advanced in teh girls 7-9 tourney Monday.

Tree City Realty showed why its still the team to beat in the girls 7-9 league as tournament play started Monday.

The undefeated squad beat A-Plus Fasteners 14-3, booking one spot in the championship game Thursday.

The other spot is still up for grabs as Cole Taylor Logging will face TEH Construction after TEH put on its hard hats and beat Leann Cordell/EJ 11-2 Monday.

Emma Boane was swinging the big bat for Tree City, which finished the regular season 10-0, during the tourney semifinals Monday. She had four hits, followed by Daelyn Roland and Maebry Yates with three hits apiece.

As impressive as the league's regular season champs were at the plate, they were just as good in the field. They retired the first six hitters in a row from A-Plus, which claimed a forfeit win earlier in the night to advance to the semis, and allowed just six runners total as they flew around the field stopping the ball.

Bailey Carroll led A-Plus Fasteners by reaching base five times in their two games.

TEH was the other big winner Monday, riding huge nights from Paislee Butcher and Jacqueline McCleanon to an 11-2 victory.

Butcher and McCleanon were right in the middle of a five-run explosion in the first, while Bristol Collingwood (two hits, two runs) and Tylee Herriman also had big hits in the first.

Ireland Romans did major damage at the bottom of the TEH order, rounding the bases once and reaching three times as the group stayed alive for a girls 7-9 tournament championship.

Cole Taylor Logging, 8-2 in the regular season and the tournament No. 2 seed, will be waiting for TEH Construction at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The winner of that matchup will try to take down Tree City Realty in the finals at 7 p.m.
