Pioneer basketball holding camp

New WCHS boys basketball coach Danny Fish and his Pioneers will be holding a camp during fall break. It will be Oct. 4-5 and run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day at Charlie Dalton Gym. It is open to boys and girls in grades K-8 across the area.

Coach Fish noted that the camp will feature quality instruction from the Pioneer basketball players and coaches, along with demonstrations from college and high school campers. Focus will also be placed on footwork, passing and catching, dribbling, finishing, shooting, post play, rebounding, defense, offense, positional play and goal setting.

The camp will go to help the Warren County High School boys team pay for its team trip to Tampa in December for a holiday shootout. Registration is $50. Scan the code below on the flyer to register a camper.

Basketball camp

WCHS Mini Pioneer Cheer Clinic

The Warren County High School football cheerleaders will be holding a Mini Pioneer cheer clinic Saturday, Sept. 17 at Charlie Dalton Gym. The camp is offered for kids starting at age 3 and going up to current fifth graders. The cost is $30.

The focus of the camp will be on team building, jumps, cheer technique, WCHS chants and a small routine. Registration will be from 7:30-8 a.m. and the camp will run from 8-11 a.m. Campers are asked to wear shorts, a T-shirt and tennis shoes. Hair should be in a ponytail as well.

Every participant in camp will receive free admission into the Sept. 23 Pioneer football game against Siegel, where they will be able to cheer at Nunley Stadium. Campers will need to arrive at the football game at 5:30 p.m. for a check-in before going through warm-ups at 5:45 p.m.

Between 6:15-6:30 p.m., group performances will begin. During the third quarter, the participants will get a chance to perform (with times based on ages).

3-point Club Golf Scramble

The 13th annual Warren County High School basketball 3-Point Club golf scramble will be held Friday, Sept. 23 at McMinnville Country Club. The team cost is $300 and individual cost is $75.

Registration will begin at noon and a shotgun start for all teams will follow at 1 p.m. Mulligans and red tees will be available for $5 each.
