All eyes are on Monica Abbott. There are two strikes and two outs and the pressure is building. Her inner monologue begins and the Team USA pitcher thinks to herself, “Time to bring it.”That was the message Abbott conveyed to the Warren County High School softball team Thursday when she made a special appearance at the team’s workout and when she spoke at a banquet later that night.The former University of Tennessee All-American and silver medalist in the 2008 Olympics was the guest speaker at a fundraiser for the WCHS softball program and her message was clear from the moment she stepped to the podium.Abbott’s first words were, “If you want things you’ve never had, you must be willing to do things you’ve never done.”
