Pioneer track team competes at state

Nathaniel Stalnaker competes in the 200-meter dash during the District 6-AAA State Championship that was held at MTSU on Friday. Stalnaker posted a time of 23.08.
The WCHS track team made its way to the District 6-AAA State Championship at MTSU on Friday looking to earn a state title. The 4x800 relay team of Jacob Baehman, Paxton Smith, Grant Hitchcock and Christian Locke were the first to compete for the Pioneers.The Pioneers were up against 15 other teams and started out of the gate strong and ultimately wound up in 11th place with a time of 8:19.90.Brentwood Academy had the winning time of 7:57.03 and Daniel Boone High School came in a close second at 7:58.10.Nathaniel Stalnaker was ready to compete eight events later in the 200-meter dash. Stalnaker was keeping pace with the other runners, until the final stretch and finished with a time of 23.08, finishing milliseconds behind the 14th and 15th place runners.Isaiah Lucas of Kenwood High School posted the best time and earned first place with a time of 21.74.
