QALO aims to take danger out of wedding rings
QALO-RingWEB
The QALO ring is made of a medical grade silicone and is designed to reduce the risk of injury that can be caused by wearing a traditional metal ring while participating in activities.

In the active lifestyle arena, wearing a traditional metal wedding band can often prove hazardous and/or uncomfortable.
Until 2012, there wasn’t much of an alternative other than take it off or tape it up. Oftentimes, the ring could get caught on a sharp object, cause injury to another participant, and all sorts of other dilemmas. In addition to sports, other fields like electricians, demolition experts, and all sorts of trades could not wear metal rings.
Surfers, boxers, cyclists, and even firefighters needed an option that just wasn’t available. That’s when QALO (pronounced KAY-LOW) was born.
According to the manufacturer, after searching for an existing viable option and not finding one, “It became their mission to create a solution. After days of working through materials and evolutions of the ring, they found that a medical grade silicone wedding ring would be the answer to their problem and QALO was born.”
Currently, QALO has faux metal ring colors, neon, black, white, glow-in-the-dark and even specialty like EMS, police and firefighter exclusives.
QALO’s mission statement says, “Our mission is to inspire people to improve their quality of life by committing to love selflessly, live athletically, and play outdoors constantly.”
The rings are available online at QALO.com or certain Academy Sports and Outdoors stores in Chattanooga.
