Having a winning traveling soccer team doesn’t come easy. With the onset of summer break, school sports programs go into a hibernation/ training mode where athletes lift weights, do aerobic workouts, and generally get ready for the fall sports programs to begin.Several traveling soccer teams began tryouts Thursday to rebuild and replace graduating members and athletes involved with conflicting school programs, then it’s on to coaching. WCMS soccer coach Matt Jackson knows what it takes to build a winning team. For the past five years, the middle school soccer program has won the CTC championship and that age group has excelled as a traveling program too.“We want to play a high level of soccer,” said coach Jackson.
