The first game of the new preseason District 6-AAA tournament didn’t disappoint.Playing on its home field, the Warren County High School baseball team got a go-ahead single by senior Alex Hillis and a seven-inning gem by Ryan Jennings to down Coffee County 3-2 Thursday night. Before the season, District 6-AAA coaches decided to hold a preseason round-robin district tournament to give every squad four extra district games – as well as one more look at each of their opponents.Patrick Ramsey Field was picked to be the host site and playing in the friendly confines of their home field seemed to bring out the best in the Pioneers, especially Jennings. The junior lefty kept the Red Raiders on their heels with a nasty curveball. Jennings surrendered only two runs, part of a rough third inning, before settling down to go the distance.Warren County was able to give Jennings just enough runs to pick up its first District 6-AAA victory. The Pioneers got off to a quick start offensively, though the Red Raiders helped out quite a bit.
