In an effort to raise money for senior Taylor Hobbs, the Warren County High School boys and girls soccer teams met on the field Wednesday for a battle of the sexes game.The game helped raise nearly $1,000 as more than half the student body showed up to see the Pioneers win 5-0 over the Lady Pioneers.Fundraisers have been going on for the last two months for the Hobbs family as Taylor, a senior member of the football team, had an extended stay in Vanderbilt Hospital after suffering seizures.Wednesday’s may have been the most successful and the people involved had plenty of fun.The lead up to the game featured both teams making bold claims about what would happen. The Lady Pioneers were ready to add a 17th victory to an already impressive 2011 season, while the boys thought a shutout could be secured.The Pioneers proved to be right. After Robert Eschenbacher opened the scoring in the first 45 seconds, the rout was on.Eschenbacher got a breakaway chance when the Pioneers flipped the field in transition.
Pioneers prevail in battle of sexes
