The Cookeville boys and Cumberland County girls are the teams to beat in the district when high school basketball season begins next month.That’s according to coaches and members of the media who gathered Monday at the Chamber of Commerce in McMinnville for the annual preseason media day. The Cookeville boys and Cumberland County girls were both picked to finish in first place in a coaches poll and a separate media poll.The Warren County boys were picked to finish in a second-place tie with White County by the coaches. Members of the media picked the Pioneers to finish fourth.The Warren County girls were picked to finish last by the coaches.
