The Warren County Middle School football team hit the practice field Monday eager to begin preparations for next season, one where the Pioneers will be the target of the rest of the Central Tennessee Conference.Warren County is the defending champion in the CTC and coach Greg Cotten and his Pioneers are working to repeat next season. Cotten thought his team got off to a great start, especially participation-wise.“I was really excited about the first day,” said Cotten. “I’m impressed by our size and our numbers right now are around where we were during the season last year.“Normally spring practice is when our numbers are at our lowest.”Over 50 players turned out for the first day and coach Cotten expects the numbers to grow in the fall once kids return from basketball and baseball.
