Dylan Barnes turned in a performance Saturday he won’t soon forget.
The sophomore retired the side in the top of the seventh, then drew a bases-loaded, game-winning walk to help the Pioneers defeat Shelbyville 9-8.
Warren County (2-4) had a commanding 8-4 lead entering the seventh, but three errors helped Shelbyville knot the game.
Barnes came to the plate after Daulton Foster walked, Nick Grandey singled and Christian Gonzalez walked. His walk brought in Foster and caused the Pioneers to rush the field.
Warren County had 12 hits, including a 4-for-4 performance by Caleb Northcutt.
