Saylem Powell enjoyed a great amount of success this spring with the Warren County Middle School girls golf team. Powell was part of the Lady Pioneer team which won the Central Tennessee Conference championship.Since school has ended, Powell has gone out on her own and continued her successful stint of golf. Powell has participated in two tournaments on the Toyota TGA Junior Tour, bringing home victories in both.Powell placed first on June 7 in Rockvale at Champions Run golf course and won an event June 14 at White Plains golf course in Cookeville.The 12-year-old has been a big winner, as she won both nine-hole events by four strokes or more.Powell shot a 43 to win in Rockvale.
