Three teams from Warren County were among 10 to compete in a play day Saturday at Pistole Park. The Warren County teams performed well, according to coach Alan Brownyard, punctuated by a 7-0 win by boys in grades 7-9 against All In, a select club out of Cookeville.Kade Simpson scored twice and John Jackson, Brody Cowans, Brayden Chisam, Juan Garcia and Jake Toney all scored once to lead the Warren County squad. Warren County dominated possession with crisp passes and played nearly the entire game in front of the Cookeville goal.“The great thing is we have five travel teams that are almost exclusively from Warren County,” said Brownyard. “In fact, we only have one kid from Coffee County and he’s the only out-of-county kid on all five teams so that shows the progress we’re making with Warren County soccer.”Brownyard, who is coaching with seasoned veteran Zack Cowans, says along with increased participation, it’s nice to see upgrades being made at Pistole Park, the local soccer complex.“We now have two very quality fields at Pistole Park and they’re working on a third,” said Brownyard.
