Warren County High School’s 4x800 meter relay team has sprinted its way to the state tournament, setting school record after school record in the process. The Pioneer relay team won sectionals Tuesday in Murfreesboro at Riverdale High School, posting a blistering time of 8:16.The victory advances the Pioneer team to the state tournament next week at MTSU. Relay team members are Grant Hitchcock, Jacob Baehman, Paxton Smith and Christian Locke.“This is an awesome accomplishment,” said WCHS track coach Tom Moore. “Every time this team runs, it sets a new school record. That started out as their goal, to set a new school record, and they keep beating it every time.”Moore said the biggest reason for the success of the 4x800 relay team is the boys have an intense desire to win and do what’s necessary to accomplish that goal.
