The Irving College Lady Tigers beat the odds Tuesday as they held on to a 1-point lead for a 36-35 home win against Morrison.
Always playing tough D, the Lady Eagles were behind the Lady Tigers by 1 point at the break and at the final buzzer they still had that 1-point deficit.
It was the battle of the top-gun offenses as both teams had two players in double digits. For the Morrison Eagles Lia Wright scored 10 points and Alexis Corey hit for 13. Kristen Turner and Breezy Wanamaker were the Lady Tiger top scorers, both adding 12 points to the tally.
Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were Lexie Whipple and Jessica Alvarez with 6 points apiece.
The Lady Tigers who rounded out the scorecard were Mia Hobbs with 6 points and Ella Bond hit for 4 points.
The Lady Eagles played a day game at Centertown on Thursday while the Lady Tigers traveled to Eastside to face the Lady Bulldogs.
