Wins have been hard to come by for the Warren County High School softball team lately, but beginning the Border Battle tournament in Lincoln County seemed to jump-start the Lady Pioneers.Warren County (11-14) bounced back from a six-game losing streak Thursday night by defeating Marshall County 6-5 and Huntland 8-2. On Friday, the Lady Pioneers defeated Tullahoma 4-1 to extend their winning streak to three.Warren County didn’t end the night with streak intact though. The Lady Pioneers finished pool play with a 7-1 loss to Greenbrier Friday night.The Lady Pioneers got complete-game performances by pitchers K.B. Cantrell and Monica Lane to earn a pair of wins Thursday night.Cantrell pitched all seven innings against Marshall County, giving up five runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking five.Cantrell looked in cruise control until the final inning when she gave up a grand slam to tighten the score to 6-5.
