The Shea Panter era got off to a triumphant start Thursday night in Tullahoma as the Warren County High School girls basketball team won its first two games.
The Lady Pioneers started the night with a 62-33 win over Coffee County. That was followed by an equally impressive 68-35 win over Tullahoma.
“I am extremely proud of the way the team fought,” said Panter.
She commented about the Lady Pioneers ability to share the ball on the offensive end and provide support to each other on the defensive end. She said it was an “ideal” way to start the season.
Coach Panter added that in the two games not only did everyone get to play, but everyone scored.
“The girls seemed to play relaxed and had fun,” said Panter. “It was nice to see everyone take their time and work the ball getting the best possible look. We have been working on that between playdays.”
Panter continued talking about being able to “show the press” and was honest stating it was not quite where it needed it to be. “We are also excited to have the ability to show different looks to different teams, keeping them on their heels,” she said.
The Lady Pioneers will open their home schedule this Monday night, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. against Franklin County.
