The WCHS volleyball team traveled to Shelbyville on Monday night as it looked to continue its winning ways against the Lady Golden Eagles.The first match of the night saw the Lady Pioneer JV team win in straight sets, 25-8 and 25-16.Reagan Whitlock and Marah Wanamaker were dominant at the serving line as they had six and three aces, respectively.Whitlock added six assists to her stat line from the setter’s position, while teammate Ashton Whiles added four.Marah Wanamaker took care of things around the net and ended up with seven kills in the match for the Lady Pioneers.Megan Davis added four kills, while Tyra Wright added the lone block in the victory.In the second match, the Lady Pioneer varsity team continued the momentum as it dominated the Lady Golden Eagles in three sets, 25-9, 25-9 and 25-16.Hailey Wood led the Lady Pioneers with six aces in the match from the serving line, while Brooke Murphy added five.Wood was also the leader in the assists column for the Lady Pioneers as she finished with nine in the match, while senior Lauren Hennessee finished with six.Bethany Fye was dominate yet again at the net with 11 kills against the Lady Golden Eagles, while adding a block. Tyra Wright contributed the other five kills for the Lady Pioneers.Murphy led the team in digs with four, while Hennessee, Kaylee Chisam and Fye added three apiece.The Lady Pioneers were back in action Tuesday night at home against the White County Warriorettes.Results weren’t available at press time.
