Last year’s second-place finish in District 6-AAA was the best year for the Warren County High School girls tennis team ever. With seniors Susie Brown and Peyton Baker back to lead the way, the Lady Pioneers want to improve on their impressive season.Warren County enters the spring sports season hoping to unseat the Cookeville Lady Cavaliers as the top team in District 6-AAA. The Lady Pioneers finished second to the Lady Cavaliers last year as Cookeville won the district title for the third straight year.Coach David Dunlap, who retired after last year only to return for his 23rd season, was extremely proud of his team’s finish last year and is happy to see so many of the players who contributed to the success back this season.“Our girls had a great season last year,” said Dunlap. “We have a lot of those girls back and we’re looking to improve.
