Erick Baird has coaching ties in Florida, so each of the past two summers he has taken his Lady Pioneers basketball team to a camp held in the Sunshine State.Coming off a second-place run in the District 6-AAA tournament and its first regional bid since 1999, the Warren County girls basketball team continued its momentum with a 7-1 performance over three days at University of West Florida.Coach Baird was proud of the performance of his team, as the majority of the wins came by double digits while playing teams from around the Southeast. The Lady Pioneers played against teams from Louisiana, Florida, Arkansas and Alabama during the team camp. It was the challenge facing teams from all over the Southeast which Baird thought brought out the best in his squad.“It’s always great to get outside the state of Tennessee and play games against teams from other states,” said Baird.
