The Morrison Lady Eagles have taken flight late in the season and in their final home game the Eastside Lady Bulldogs would try to stop the Lady Eagle momentum, but to no avail. The Lady Eagles would soar in defeating Eastside, 39-23.
Kaylin Barrett for Morrison would be the game’s high scorer with 17 points.
Coming out of halftime, the third quarter was the best quarter of play by Eastside. The Lady Bulldogs stepped up to the challenge with a much tougher full-court press, causing some confusion on the Morrison side of the ball. A total of four Lady Bulldogs scored in the third quarter, while keeping the Lady Eagle offense grounded.
In the fourth quarter things opened up for Morrison when Macy Harrell hit a very deep 3-point shot. It would give Morrison the kickstart it needed to finish off the Lady Bulldogs. Harrell and Barrett for Morrison did get some help down the stretch from Lady Eagle Jasmine Cantrell as the time ticked off the clock.
Lady Bulldogs Kimberly McBride and Cali Houston were able to knock down five points in the final quarter of play as the final buzzer sounded and the Lady Eagles kept the Lady Bulldogs contained to a final score of 39-23.
The Lady Eagles got off to a quick start as Riley Desmarais would lead the attack with six points for Morrison. The Eagle defense would put pressure on the Lady Bulldogs offense and force the Eastside guards into making bad choices with the ball and it continued through the entire first half. Rylie Crawford led Eastside in second-quarter scoring three points before the half.
It was too much Lady Eagle offense Tuesday night as Morrison gets the win on its home floor in the last regular season game of the year.
