The Eastside Lady Bulldogs were serious about staying unbeaten Tuesday as they handed the WCMS Lady Pioneers their first loss, 48-23, in 5-6 grade basketball action at Eastside.Lady Bulldog Sable Winfree was on fire, scoring 10 points during a 19-3 first-quarter lead over the Lady Pioneers. When the halftime buzzer sounded, the WCMS girls faced a 32-8 deficit and they couldn’t dig themselves out.“I’m really proud of them,” said Eastside coach Shae Hodges. “They gave it all and that’s all I can ask of them.”Eastside scored first and often, grabbing rebounds and turnovers for more opportunities.
