Boyd’s high school girls basketball team entered Friday night’s game with a smooth 11-0 record.
It only took the Lady Broncos a matter of minutes to show they would soon be improving to 12-0.
Boyd dominated in every phase to wallop Franklin Classical 65-8 in McMinnville.
Laney Copeland finished with a game-high 20 points for Boyd, followed by Lia Wright with 10. The Lady Broncos were up 29-0 at the end of the first quarter.
“We have a team that plays offense, defense and plays in transition at full speed for 32 minutes,” said Boyd coach Tim Page. “We’re a fast team and we’re a deep team. Right now we’re going 10 deep with all our players contributing.”
The game was over by halftime with Boyd ahead 48-5 at the break. Under the mercy rule, there was a running clock for the second half.
Coach Page says Boyd’s closest game thus far has come against Bledsoe County. Boyd won that game by 19 points, 59-40.
