The Boyd Lady Broncos improved to 23-2 on the season Saturday with another overpowering victory.

Boyd traveled to Fayetteville and left with an 83-44 win over Riverside Christian Academy. The win keeps the Lady Broncos unbeaten in district play at 9-0.

Three players scored at least 20 for Boyd, led by Anna Jones with 26 points, Lia Wright with 21 and Laney Copeland with 20.

The top scorer for Riverside Christian managed 13.

In a scene that’s become painfully familiar for Boyd opponents, the Lady Broncos pounced early. Boyd made four 3-pointers in the opening quarter on the way to a 29-7 lead. The outcome was never in doubt the rest of the way.

Fresh off scoring the 1,000th point of her Boyd career the night before, Anna Jones showed she still has more scoring left in her tank. She was hot from 3-point range, hit 4-of-5 foul shots, and was generally all over the floor.
