Warren County High School senior soccer player John Jackson has signed to play at Union University after graduation.

Jackson was joined by two of his sisters, Bekah and Rachael, his mother Myra and his father and head soccer coach Matt Jackson at the signing on Thursday at the WCHS auditorium.

John’s brother James currently plays at Union University and that inspired his college of choice. “I’ve been there before to see my brother play,” John said. “I loved the campus and the coaches.”

WCHS soccer coach Matt Jackson showed his support not just as a coach, but as a dad. Matt said, “We’re super excited that he will be playing with his brother.” He said they’re very proud of this decision and that John will also be reuniting with an old friend who moved to Union University to play as well.

“I’m very excited to play with my brother and one of my best friends,” John said. Coming from a family of soccer enthusiasts, John will continue the legacy for the Jacksons.

After rescheduling a couple times, John was finally able to officially sign to join the Union University soccer team.

John signed in front of his classmates, the Warren County boys soccer team, and Warren County athletic director Todd Willmore. Union University’s coaches were not present, but they will welcome John in the fall.
