The two-month adventure for four teams in the girls senior league came to an end Monday night when the regular season wrapped up at Hoover and Millraney Field.Ben Lomand Connect was involved in both games as it fell 3-2 in extra innings to Letitia Lane Photography in the first contest before bouncing back to beat Tennessee Warehouse 13-8 in the nightcap.Seeding for the tournament – which began Tuesday night – was already complete before Monday night, but it didn’t stop Ben Lomand and Letitia Lane Photography from battling to the very end in their final matchup.Letitia Lane Photography was able to complete a three-game sweep of Ben Lomand, but it took a late-game rally for the team to move to 6-3 this season.Letitia Lane Photography went into the bottom of fifth inning trailing 2-0 before the bottom of the lineup gave the home team a spark.Erin Lane started things with a one-out single over first base. She was joined on base shortly after by Savannah English and Abi Ellis, who each drew free passes to load the bases. Morgan Keel helped Letitia Lane Photography get on the board when she hit a hard grounder to first base, allowing Lane to score as Madison Merriman scooped the ball and stepped on the bag.Letitia Lane Photography wasn’t able to push the tying run across in the fifth inning, but it wouldn’t be long before the game was deadlocked and would need extra innings to decide a winner.Maddie Cantrell held Ben Lomand in check in the sixth inning as she recorded two of her season-high 13 strikeouts in the frame.
