Football team eyes first win

There is one guarantee for the Warren County High School football game Friday night in Manchester – one team will be celebrating its first victory.It will be a battle of 0-3 teams when the Pioneers travel to Coffee County for a road game against the struggling Red Raiders.The game is no longer a district battle but bragging rights and much-needed momentum will be on the line when the game kicks off at 7 p.m. The Pioneers are hoping their fan base makes the short trip down Highway 55 as the team looks to win its second straight against the Red Raiders.Warren County has played well in spurts this year, but has been plagued by turnovers and inconsistency. The Pioneers last won in Manchester in 2008 when the team earned a 17-7 victory.For a game preview, see Friday’s edition.
