Time is running out to submit photos for the "Kids of Summer" special sports section.

Photos will be accepted until Monday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m.  for the section, which is set to run Friday, Aug. 10.

The "Kids of Summer" section highlights the best teams in youth baseball and softball leagues all across the county as well as travel and all-star squads.

Any local team that has finished first or second in the regular season of tournament in a local league can submit a photo free of charge. Travel teams featuring local players can also submit photos of first- or second-place finishes this summer.

If a team finished outside the top two, but still wants to submit a photo, a charge of $20 will be applied.

Submissions will be accepted during normal business hours or by e-mailing the team picture and information to sports@southernstandard.com. Submissions should include the following information: all players identified from left to right starting with the front row, the team name, the league the team played in and what place the team finished in the regular season and/or the tournament.

All submissions brought to the Southern Standard office may be picked up after the section runs. Submissions will be held on file for one month.
