On Saturday April 20, Jonathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championship 6 in Murfreesboro will be headlined by top featherweight contenders Tommy Scrivner and Logan Nash for the vacant featherweight title.
This will be Scrivner’s second chance at the belt after coming off a loss to the former champion Jamie Vasquez last October. Scrivner has always fought tough opponents, but they all haven’t gone his way. Not too long ago, Scrivner was having some legal trouble, but was able to overcome it and has been more motivated than ever to train and be a better-rounded mixed martial artist.
Scrivner came back and fought at CFC 4 and beat Luis Siguenza to earn a title shot. Scrivner is ranked No. 5 in the featherweight division. Scrivner will be looking to get back on track with a win over Nash April 20.
Nash is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt. Nash made the decision to become an MMA fighter last year and agreed to make his debut with Jonathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championship. Nash was matched against veteran Aaron Kim and defeated Kim by way of triangle choke in the first round. So far, Nash is 1-0 in his MMA career and is mostly skilled on the ground. He’s definitely sharpening all of his tools for his upcoming bout against Scrivner.
Nash is the No. 1 contender in the featherweight division and will look to keep his momentum going in the CFC featherweight championship bout.
Both fighters are ready to make a statement and will be looking to add the CFC featherweight title to their already impressive resumes.
Make sure to watch all the amazing fights on April 20.
