In girls 10-12 youth league action Monday night, team Evolution was able to break a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning after Sadie Duggin and Vada Lowry added 2 more runs for the 4-2 victory over Southern Girls in the postseason tournament. Both teams showed up to win, and a low-scoring result emphasized each team’s commitment not to give up runs by playing strict defense.Evolution’s Ebony Ross would score first in the ballgame, crossing home for a 1-0 lead in the second inning.Southern Girls started out strong in the fourth by scoring 2 runs, as Kora Forbes and Isabella Pennington both crossed home for a slim 2-1 lead.It would be Ross again in the bottom of the inning to tie the contest 2-2 before team Evolution finished with the win in the fifth. With the victory, team Evolution – having only lost one contest to Aaron’s Heat and Air all season – will face Aaron’s again Monday in what should be an exciting ballgame. Action starts at 5:30 p.m.
