Brayan Holguin scored a run and pitched for Juicys Wellness Caf Monday night in season tournament action in boys ages 9-11 division.
After falling to Brent’s Computers in game one of the season tournament, season champion Donald Hillis Realty took another step toward a rematch with Brent’s on Monday by defeating Juicy’s Wellness Café 7-2.Juicy’s kept the game interesting and challenged Donald Hillis all the way, leading 2-1 after three innings going into the bottom of the fourth.Kyler Robinson put Hillis on the board with a run in the second, but Juicy’s came back in the third with scores by Josaih Laxson, who hit a clutch single on two strikes, and Brayan Holguin giving the Wellness Café a slim margin of hope.Holguin was on the mound for Juicy’s, and held Donald Hillis at bay for most of the ballgame, having 10 strikeouts and giving up only one hit until Hillis found its mojo going into the final inning at the top of the batting order.Leading off for Donald Hillis was Jaxsyn Patterson who started the rally with a single to leftfield, and it became a who’s who on the roster. Connor Williams, Garryn Duggin, Robinson, Aiden Miller and Kenyon Reno all hit consecutively in the longest streak of the evening. The rally would have continued as the hits kept coming with a single by Talon Vinson but time ran out.Reno threw for Donald Hillis with eight strikeouts, allowing only four hits and three walks.Hillis was one win away from confronting Brent’s again on Tuesday, facing Bob Young in an early decider contest.
