Covenant Academy hosted Lancaster Christian Academy, LCA, from Smyrna on Tuesday night. LCA does not have a high school girls basketball team; therefore, the high school boys played after the middle school boys and girls teams played.
Covenant Academy had a tough time getting started as they fell behind 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Lions struggled in half court and on the boards against the taller, quicker LCA players.
Noah Mason led the Covenant Academy Lions with 27 points. Garryn Duggin scored 11 points, and he hustled and made several steals. Covenant Academy simply could not keep pace with LCA, and the Lions accumulated a lot of fouls.
LCA was led by Alex Daniel who scored 38 points, and he had a strong supporting cast. Alex Clark contributed 17 points for the visitors. Daniel made five 3-point shots that came from long ranges on the court.
