NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Titans general manager Ruston Webster is out, and interim coach Mike Mularkey will be a candidate as the team starts its coaching search.
The Titans also announced Monday that Steve Underwood will oversee the searches as president and chief executive officer, with his interim tag removed.
Controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a statement that the Titans have fallen far short of the goal to be one of the NFL's elite franchises and she shares fans' frustration over the team's recent play.
Webster's contract expired after this season. He had been general manager for four seasons, with the Titans just 5-22 the last two years. Vin Marino, vice president of football administration, will run football operations during the search for a new general manager.
