MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Middle Tennessee quarterback Brent Stockstill will miss at least the rest of the regular season with a broken collarbone.

The school announced the extent of Stockstill's injury Monday on the football program's Twitter account. The Blue Raiders are hoping Stockstill could return in time for a potential bowl game matchup.

Stockstill was injured Saturday during the second quarter of a 45-25 loss to Texas-San Antonio. Redshirt freshman John Urzua replaced Stockstill.

Stockstill has completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 2,801 yards with 27 touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He ranks eighth among all Football Bowl Subdivision players in passing yards per game and total touchdown passes.

He also has rushed for 232 yards on 42 carries.

Middle Tennessee (6-3, 3-2 Conference USA) plays Saturday at Marshall (2-7, 1-4).
