ZURICH (AP) — FIFA says former executive committee member Worawi Makudi of Thailand has been banned for three months for failing to obey a previous ban.

FIFA says its disciplinary committee imposed the latest sanction for a breach of provisional bans imposed by the ethics committee.

FIFA says Makudi, a longtime ally of Mohamed bin Hammam, "was still involved" in the Thailand soccer federation's affairs despite the ethics suspension.

Thailand soccer officials elected a new president this month to replace Makudi.

The ban imposed Monday will replace a 45-day provisional ban by ethics judges which was to expire on Wednesday. FIFA gave no details of Makudi's ongoing ethics case.

He was on the FIFA executive committee for 18 years until being voted off last year.
