In December, the Dibrell 5-6 grade girls basketball team felt the disappointment of losing its perfect season in the elementary championship game. Tuesday night, the 7-8 grade Lady Wildcats were the ones who spoiled perfection.Dibrell upset the top-seeded and unbeaten Irving College Lady Tigers 45-32 in the championship game to end the 7-8 grade elementary season.The Lady Wildcats lost only two games during the regular season and both came to Irving College. The third time proved to be the charm for Dibrell though.Bailey Barrett scored a game-high 15 points on her way to earning tournament MVP and Rachel Johnson added 14 as the Lady Wildcats toppled the Lady Tigers.Barrett set the tone early with the first five points for Dibrell, including finishing through a foul for an and-one bucket.
