Centertown pulls shocker

The Morrison Lady Eagles were knocked from their unbeaten horse Friday night in the 7-8 County Basketball Championship at WCHS.

Centertown pulled the upset, 29-28.

It came down to a free throw and Shelby Miller delivered. She made the foul shot that put Centertown up by 1 and produced the county championship.

Kealey Simpson led Centertown with 11 points and Allie Melton scored 9.

For Morrison, Chloe Wanamaker was the top scorer with 14.

Centertown was able to hold Jayla Garibaldi to 2 points for the game. She was the star of the league this season and MVP of the Morrison Ruritan Preseason Tournament.


BOYS

Morrison capped an undefeated regular season with a tournament championship Friday night, edging Dibrell in an absolute thriller, 38-35.

Two big-time players had big-time games.

Isaiah Robledo scored 16 for Morrison to lead a fast-moving attack. Chance Whitlock scored a game-high 19 for Dibrell.
