Over the past two seasons, the Warren County High School baseball team has struggled to close out games in late innings.Tuesday was the perfect way to put the past behind them. The Pioneers held on to 5-3 victory over the Livingston Academy Wildcats on the road to improve to 2-0 this season.Coach Adam Childs was aware of the Pioneers’ past struggles in late innings. Last season, the Pioneers lost five games in the final inning and the year before Warren County lost nine games by a total of 14 runs.To have his bullpen stand up in the final three innings on the road was a big stepping stone in coach Childs’ mind.“We didn’t play as well as we did at home Monday, but it was good for the kids to see they can win a close game,” said Childs.Senior Derek Brumley did a little bit of everything to help the Pioneers win.
