Boyd wins at buzzer
Boyd - Christian Rogers.jpg

With the game on the line, Boyd Christian turned to senior Christian Rogers.

Rogers broke a tie game with a basket in the final seconds to catapult the Broncos to a 60-58 road victory Thursday night against Dickson Christian Academy. Rogers finished with 31 for the game.

Boyd held a double-digit lead late and it appeared the Broncos might coast to a win. But that’s when Dickson Christian suddenly got hot and made six 3-pointers in the fourth, some of them ridiculous shots that somehow went in.

With the score tied, Boyd coach Chris Perry knew where he wanted to go with the ball. Rogers gained inside position in the post and made a closerange shot to put Boyd up 60-58 with 1.2 seconds left. The Broncos held on from there.

Jack Estes brought Dickson Christian back by making every shot he tossed up. Estes scored 16 in the final quarter, including four 3-pointers.
