Park Theater is a wonderful place

TO THE EDITOR:
On June 20 I was involved in a wedding that was held at the newly renovated Park Theater. As wedding coordinator, I was there for the setup and decorating, the wedding rehearsal, the wedding, and the cleanup after the event was over.  The theatre is a wonderful venue and a unique and beautiful place for a wedding and reception.
Sara Morgan, Park Theatre coordinator, went beyond the duties of her job to help in many different ways and worked endlessly to make sure the theater was perfect for the event. She was there many long hours and worked tirelessly along with everyone involved during the setup, during the event, and during the cleanup.
It is easy to see she enjoys her job and is committed to making sure the Park Theater is a success in the years to come. I hope that the city of McMinnville realizes the dedication, the experience, and the expertise Sara brings to the theater. A big thank you to Sara and the city of McMinnville for creating such a classic venue that will be used for many different kinds of memorable events.

I'd like to see more yard sales in town

TO THE EDITOR:
With the economy the way it is, people of McMinnville should be allowed to have yard sales more often than once every six months. Plus, the city should not have its hand out to take money from people who need the money themselves from the yard sale.
Maybe churches could allow people to have parking-lot yard sales. Can the city's hand take money from churches? Maybe donations could be made to the churches. The church members could help set up tables and provide an assortment of pamphlets. Maybe some music could be played as a witness for Jesus.
A puppet show for children's entertainment would be fun. Someone singing would be nice.
This type of yard sale could be advertised in Caney Fork's Tennessee Magazine. People from other counties could be attracted to McMinnville as the city wants to happen.
Thank you for the opportunity to express these opinions.
